The function of the brain can be affected by damage or disease. Neuropsychology provides an objective way to assess changes in cognitive functions such as memory, attention, planning and inhibition.
The results of the standardized neuropsychological tests identify a person’s current strengths and weaknesses. These results can then be used to plan and guide realistic, achievable rehabilitation.
Recent case examples include:-
- Assessment of the degree of memory impairment following assault and traumatic brain injury
- Assessment for the differential diagnosis of dementia
- Rehabilitation of a specific attention deficit following a road traffic accident
- Therapeutic support for depression co-morbid with Parkinson’s Disease
- Assessment for vocational guidance in the context of sudden academic failure
- Assessment for the differential diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome or psychosis within the context of college placement failure
- Rehabilitation and adaptation to changes following a stroke
